February Coffee & Bible

BibleStudyBIBLE & COFFEE IS THIS WEEKEND!

This Sunday is our evening spot for some coffee & bible.

So come and join us in the Rose Room (upstairs) at Christ Church, Warminster. We’ll start from 7.30pm (to 8:30ish) 18th February.

These catch-ups consist of a relaxed chat through a chapter or two from a book of the bible, of course with a coffee. (other drinks are available if necessary!)

Currently we’re looking at our partner organisation CVM’s Codelife study.  Don’t worry if you’ve not been before – these are easy dip in/dip out stand alone sessions (as well as a good series!).  You can read more here www.codelife.org.  This month we will look at;

Codelife – CODE III – I will unashamedly make Him known through my actions and words.

Sunday Feb 18th, from 7:30pm in the Rose Room (upstairs) , Christ Church, Warminster.  We plan to make these meetings fit in everyday life, so we promise to finish at 8:30pm.

What is it like?  We take a chapter or two, read it through together & chat about what we find. Absolutely no experience of the bible is necessary, all you need is a thirst to find out more & a willingness to share in a safe environment.

Where is it? We will meet in the Rose Room (upstairs in the main church), Christ Church, Warminster; see map below.

What shall I bring?  Yourself!  We will supply coffee/tea and a bible if you like.

Is there any cost?  No, not a bean!

Look forward to seeing you there.

January Men’s Breakfast

Mens BreakfastJoin us Saturday 27th January for our next men’s breakfast.

Strive

Men striving to do what is good

This month we will talk about Strive – what we do and why we do it.  It will be a clarification of focus and a call to arms!  Come along if you’d like to find out more about us, and invite those who’d like to know more.

Or indeed, just to share an amazing breakfast!

If you are planning to come along, please let us know so we can get enough sausages; either phone Si Pope (01985219688), email strive.warminster@gmail.com or comment on this post.

PS we don’t charge for our breakfast, but a donation of £3 is suggested.  If you can’t afford it, that is absolutely fine, please join us anyway & share a great breakfast.

See you there!

Lions Club – Father Christmas Collection

It’s almost that time of year – Christmas!

Once again we are supporting the Warminster Lions Club’s Christmas collection.  Going out with Father Christmas, collecting for local charities. (it might not look 100% like this image!)

You can find out more about The Lions here; http://www.warminsterlions.org/

It consists of a couple of hours following Father Christmas’ truck, knocking on doors wishing people Merry Christmas.  Many locals look forward to this event every year; young and old racing out too see and get sweets!  It really is a lovely way to serve our community.

So have a look at the routes below and let us know which you’re able to join in on.  We’re looking for 2 or 3 people to join the rest of the team each night.

November Men’s Breakfast Special

This November’s men’s breakfast we’re planning a trip to join Trowbridge’s Men United group.  They have invited ex professional footballer Linvoy Primus to talk, see his bio below.

Date:   Saturday November 11th
Time:   8.30am to 10.30am

Linvoy had a 18 year career in football which ended, through injury, at Portsmouth in 2009. “The Linvoy Primus Community Stand” was named for his outstanding services to the club. He shares his inspirational story of his life in football and how through his amazing conversion to Christianity, he triumphantly overcame disillusionment, lack of self-belief and numerous rejections which led to a life and career that has been totally transformed.
As Linvoy tells of his Christian journey he hopes that his story and life experiences, will encourage, challenge and inspire others to have a relationship, like he has found, with Jesus Christ.
He was awarded an MBE in the 2015 New Years Honours list for his contribution to football and charities
